The Army is committed to offering career paths for its civilian employees that develop staff expertise as well as provide exciting challenges both professionally and personally. A new version of the civilian Resume Builder and Applicant Notification System Web-Enabled Response (ANSWER) has recently been deployed to modernize, simplify, and streamline the job application process:
- Resume Builder assists users in entering their resume into the Army's Centralized Resumix System. Users can enter their resume as well as provide supplemental data to indicate their qualifications and preferences. Once a resume is entered using this system, the record is integrated with the other staffing tools used by the Army to recruit and place applicants.
- ANSWER allows users to check the status of their resume online, track their application history, and view Self-Nomination history and their current Resume and Supplemental Data listed in the Central Resumix Database.
New features include:
- Resume Builder and ANSWER are now combined into one login process so that users can copy and paste text from ANSWER to Resume Builder.
- The system is user-friendly and menu-driven - no more scrolling down one long page.
- Worksheet formats are available for work experience, education, and additional information - puts information in proper format.
- New job experience entries are automatically entered at the beginning of the resume.
- One large box for job experience - versus six individual boxes - allows for more flexibility.
- Up to 12,000 characters are available for job experience description.
- Status tracking is enhanced - only the last 25 entries displayed, with the option to view more.
- The system offers enhanced help menus.
